Tonga Red Cross and Lions Club NZ provide tanks for Ha'apai [1]

Tonga Red Cross Society (TRCS) partnered with Lions Club New Zealand to provide new water tanks, plastic chairs, and other supplies for the people of the small islands of Ha’apai.

Since 2022, Lions Club New Zealand alongside TRCS has successfully installed four 5000ltrs water tanks for the Government Primary Schools (GPS) of Nomuka, three 5000ltrs water tanks for GPS Tungua, and two 5000ltrs for GPS Fonoi, including guttering and bases.

The service club also provided assistance valued at about TOP$20,000 to support the operation of a health centre in Nomuka, which includes a washing machine, lawn mower, weed-eater, 40 plastic chairs, a cupboard and one 2000ltr water tank.
