58 earthquakes reported for July [1]

A total of 58 seismic events were recorded within Tonga’s region, in the month of July compared to 155 seismic events in June, the Tonga Geohazards team reported today.
There were 10 days with no seismic event in the region in July.
Tonga Geohazards reported one event with 6+ magnitude, seven events with 5+. The rest of the events were 4+ magnitude, some 23 of which were shallow events and 35 deep events (Figure 2A).
Only two of the seimic events were "felt" events in July. A 6.9 Mw magnitude was felt on 2 July at 11:27 pm, which was 225 km deep, located at 143 km NW of Neiafu, 370 km North of Nuku’alofa, Tonga. It was a light shaking event felt in Tongatapu,‘Eua, Vava’u and Ha’apai, which caused no damages and no tsunami threats.
The other one, a 5.8 Mw magnitude was felt on 27 July at 1:29 pm, was 10 km deep. It was located at 109 km ESE of Hihifo Niuatoputapu, 132 km NW of Neiafu, Tonga. It was a weak shaking event which was felt in Niuatoputapu only with no damages and no tsunami threats.
However, none of these seismic events caused any damage.
