New Zealand Universities are now accepting students who have completed the Tongan National Form Seven Certificate (TNFSC) programme.
Tonga's Prime Minister's Office announced on 4 August, that the qualification has been accepted as "meeting the minimum requirements" for entrance to a New Zealand University.
This also means that every university in New Zealand may be prepared to consider any application from students who have completed the TNFSC programme.
The Prime Minister, Hon. Hu'akavameiliku told Matangi Tonga that this opportunity will provide Tongan students with options and easier access to New Zealand Universities.
"Before, you would have to talk individually with each University, now there will be less work, hence enrolling to universities will be made easier after students complete Form 7."
“They are now working towards having Australian Universities accept our TNFSC.”
