The Flying Fijians, decisively beat the ‘Ikale Tahi, 36-20 at the Lautoka Stadium, on 22 July 2023, in the second round of the Pacific Nations Cup.
The ‘Ikale Tahi were reduced to 14 players early in the first half of the game when their flanker, Tanginoa Halaifonua was yellow carded.
With one Tongan player down the Flying Fijians led with three tries, 19-0.
The ‘Ikale Tahi bounced back with two tries and a converted penalty and closed the gap to 19-15.
Before half-time the Flying Fijian scored a converted try to end the half, 26-15.
In the second half the host maintained their lead with one try and a penalty.
Tonga managed only one try with Fiji earning a decisive 36 to 20 win.
The 'Ikale Tahi's next game is against Japan.
