The Nuku'alofa office of the Auckland-based, Taimi 'o Tonga newspaper said that the newspaper will start distributing in Tonga again on Friday October 15.

The announcement follows the declaration by Chief Justice R. W. Webster in the Tongan Supreme Court last Friday that the Media Operator's Act 2003 and the Newspaper Licensing Act 2003 were void and invalid.

The deputy editor of the Taimi 'o Tonga , Taina Kami, said today that they had just completed the licensing procedure and the paper would be on sale on Friday morning. "The retail price will be only 60 seniti. It is a thank you price for the people of Tonga!"

The import of the paper to Tonga was prohibited in January this year under the restrictive media legislation.
