Tongan Catholic youth to join World Youth Day in Portugal [1]

World Youth Day, Lisbon 2023.

Over 100 Tongan Catholic youth will take part in the Catholic Church World Youth Day, from 1-6 August in Lisbon, Portugal.

Preparations have been underway for the 103 Tongan Catholic youth, started by a countdown of 40 days before their journey to Lisbon.

A group of priests and nuns from Tonga will accompany the youth to Portugal, where Pope Francis will preside and lead the international event.

Over 400,000 young people have registered to take part in the event at Lisbon.
