Tonga Rugby Union centennial celebrations [1]

As this year marks Tonga Rugby Union’s centennial, various events of commemoration will be held in Nuku'alofa, starting on Saturday, 1 July.
Tonga Rugby Union [2] stated that the events will bring together the ‘Ikale Tahi Club and all members of the local rugby community, who have made contributions to the state of the union today.
On Saturday morning, 1 July the ‘Ikale Tahi, ex ‘Ikale Tahi players and Tonga Rugby Union are expected make a traditional presentation to King Tupou VI, at the Royal Palace.
Float parade
On the same afternoon, a march and float parade held under a theme 'Simply Red' will be held in the CBD to the Taufa'ahau Tupou IV Domestic Wharf, where other events will be held.
The Prime Minister, Hon. Hu'akavameiliku will then host a reception later in the evening, which will include the presentation of medals to ex-'Ikale Tahi players, donated by former ‘Ikale Tahi and Tonga's Consular in New Zealand, Stafford 'Aho.
On Sunday on 2 July is a church a service at th FWC Centennial followed a luncheon program.
The Ikale Tahi Club will then hold their Annual General Meeting on Monday morning, 3 July. A ball will held later that night to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1973 'Ikale Tahi team that defeated the Wallabies.
On Friday, 14 July the 'Ikale Tahi will then play Australia A, at the Teufaiva Outdoor Stadium. A farewell dinner will be held later that night.
Meanwhile, the 'Ikale Tahi will play two home test matches against Canada on 10-15 August, the first matches that Tonga will host on home soil, since 2017.
Nuku'alofa is buzzing with many celebrations that includes the Heilala Festival, Tonga High School celebrations, among others.
