Tongan appointed Associate Dean at University of Auckland Business School [1]

Tongan born Sione Taufa was appointed as Associate Dean Pacific at the University of Auckland Business School, New Zealand on 27 June, for a three year term.

Sione is a professional teaching fellow in the department of accounting and finance at the University of Auckland, where his passion for teaching has been recognised with teaching excellence awards.

The proud son of Nomuka, Ha’apai, has helped with initiatives for Māori and Pasifika to succeed at the university. Outside of university he uses his accounting skills to help a number of small businesses, church and community groups.

Sione is a former chair of the New Zealand Tonga Business Council and remains as a board member. He regularly contributes to the Pacific Media Network on various topics relating to the Kingdom of Tonga.
