New CEO for the Ministry of Justice [1]

Dr Sela Moa was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Justice, effective on 24 June for a four-year term.
From Fasi mo e Afi and Kolofo'ou, she takes over from Temaleti Manakovi Aleamotu'a Pahulu, who completes her employment contract on 24 June, 2023.
Dr Moa signed her contract with Government presided over by the Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Simione Sefanaia supported by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Hon. Samiu Vaipulu, on 16 June.
Her public service career started in April 2004 as Assistant Registrar for the Companies and Intellectual Property Division of the Ministry of Labour, Commerce and Industries (now the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development).
Among her other positions, she was Assistant Crown Counsel at the Crown Law Office until February 2008, before working as a private law practitioner on several projects, that included drafting and reviewing of legislations. She then returned to the public service and was appointed Deputy Secretary and Legal Officer for the Prime Minister's Office from February 2016-19. Her most recent position was Deputy Secretary, Leadership and Legal Policy Division, at the Ministry of Justice.
Dr Moa's qualification, includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from the University of New South Wales in Australia (2017), Master of Laws from the Deakin University in Australia (2010) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the South Pacific, School of Law in Vanuatu (2001).
