A 30-year-old man who was stabbed by a man with a knife at Ma'ufanga is currently being treated at Vaiola Hospital for his injuries.

Tonga Police today stated that on Sunday, 28 May at around 4:00am they were alerted to the stabbing incident, which resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old man from Ma’ufanga.

It alleged that the victim and the suspect were drinking alcohol with others when they got into a dispute, which led to the suspect stabbing the victim on his left thigh with a knife.

The victim remains hospitalized at Vaiola where his injury is being treated.

Meanwhile, police investigations continue while the suspect is detained in police custody charged with causing bodily harm.
