New tool boxes containing tools and equipment for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forests, gifted by Australia, will help with the ongoing maintenance of vehicles and tractors that are used in land preparation for farmers.

Australia's High Commissioner, HE Rachel Moore handed over the equipment to MAFF Minister, Lord Fohe on 26 May.

The tool boxes are to assist with maintenance of official vehicles.

The Minister thanked the Australian High Commissioner for the continuing support provided, not only from these tools and equipment but also for all the other development assistance provided in the past and at present.

“The Ministry is privileged to have the 10 complete sets of tools and equipment provided by the Australian Government, through the High Commissioner’s Office. These tools and equipment will assist the Ministry in the improvement and timely maintenance of official vehicles and tractors that carry out mechanical land preparation for the farmers in Tonga,” the Ministry stated.
