Internal Affairs CEO re-appointed [1]

Dr Fotu Fisi’iahi was re-appointed as Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Internal Affairs for four-years, effective on 19 May, signing a renewed contract in Nuku'alofa.
The Public Service Commission stated that Dr. Fisi'iahi's career in the Public Service began in 1985 as a junior clerk. In 1991he was appointed to Senior Executive Officer for the Ministry of Labour, Commerce and Industries. In 2002, he was promoted to Assistant Secretary at the Labour Division where he later served as Deputy Secretary from 2001 to 2006.
After a period overseas he returned to Tonga and was appointed as CEO for the Ministry of Internal Affairs on 25 February 2019. He served as CEO until the expiration date of his contract, 25 February 2023. He has been acting in the top job since then.
Dr Fisi'iahi holds a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Wollongong in Australia, a Masters of Commerce in Industrial Relations and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations.
The contract signing was attended by the Minister for Internal Affairs, Lord Vaea, Commissioners and the CEO of PSC and the family of Dr Fisi’iahi at the PSC office.
