A new Toyota Hilux Utility vehicle and some much-needed rugby equipment were donated by the Australian Defence Force Sports Program to His Majesty’s Armed Forces (HMAF) recently.
Defence Advisor South Pacific, LTCOL Sean Benporath made handover to LTCOL Taulama Aleamotu’a on 21 April, at the Masefield Naval Base in Touliki.
The rugby equipment consisted of a scrum machine and two scrum sleds that were donated, as a part of ADF Sports program, to support to HMAF rugby teams.
The equipment will be key in helping to prepare the men’s team, Ngahau Koula for the upcoming Defence Rugby World Cup, which will be held in France later this year.
The Toyota Hilux for HMAF transport fleet, will aid in the delivery of logistics and personnel movement.
“The vehicle was donated as a part of the Australian Defence Cooperation Program and will assist in the continuous modernisation of HMAF’s transport capability,” stated the Australian High Commission in Nuku'alofa today.
