Sione Fo'i'akau Lolohea has been appointed as the new Government Statistician for four-years.

His contract which is effective on 11 April was signed with the Commission for Public Service.

The Prime Minister's Office stated that he took his oath before the Prime Minister, Hon. Hu'akavameiliku, witnessed by members of Public Service Commission, including chairman, Simione Sefanaia.

The new appointment has him heading the Tonga Statistics Department.
