A 31-year-old man from Ha'asini was arrested after a police pursuit, after he was alleged to have been distributing illicit drugs. Two others, including a 14-year-old teen were arrested later.

On 8 March, Police intercepted a vehicle that was reported to be distributing illicit drugs at Veitongo. A man attempted to flee but he was arrested following a police pursuit.

A search was conducted at his residence in Ha’asini, where Police allegedly seized 345.67 grams of cannabis, including piles of marijuana stalks and leaves, a drug utensil containing methamphetamine, a .22 rifle, 9mm ammunition with empty packs, and test tubes.

Following this seizure, two others, a 26-year-old man and 14-year-old teen were arrested in connection to this offence.

The trio have been charged with possession of illicit drugs and utensils and are being remanded until their appearance at the Magistrate's Court.
