Another 15 cruise ships to visit Tonga this year [1]

Zuiderdam is the second cruise to visit Nuku'alofa in 2023.

Another 15 cruise ships are listed to visit Tonga in 2023, a year of revival for the local tourism industry that was hit hard with the closure of Tonga's international borders from March 2020 to September 2022.

Three cruise ships have already visited in January and February bringing thousands of passengers and crew.

The Ministry of Tourism lists the next arrival, Europa 2, to visit Nuku'alofa on Saturday 18 February. This cruise ship is expected to bring over 500 passengers and crew for a day's visit.

March sees more cruise ships arriving and more listings through to December.

Five cruise ships visited Tonga for the latter part of last year, after Tonga fully re-opened its international borders, sea/air effective 27 September, 2022.
