Police Commissioner Shane McLennan said today the formal outcome of that examination will be received by Tonga Police once pathology tests have been completed.
"However, that is expected to be a number of weeks away, given the need for that pathology testing to be undertaken in either New Zealand or Fiji."
The Commissioner said they will release what results they can, without compromising operational and investigational security.
The post-mortem examination was conducted with assistance from the Ministry of Health.
Detectives from the Central Station Criminal Investigation Unit remain the lead on this investigation.
In the meantime, the deceased's body was released to his family on Thursday, 22 December for his funeral.
Talanoa who went missing on Wednesday night, 7 December was found on 13 December, when divers at Tu’imatamoana Wharf recovered his body inside his orange car, underwater.
From Hala-’o-vave, Talanoa was reported missing by his family, when he didn’t return home, after his last sighting on the night of 7 December, at Nauti Ruby's Bar in Ma'ufanga.
