Man dies in fall from Hufangalupe lookout [1]

A 37-year-old man has died in a fall from the Hufangalupe lookout on Tongatapu's southern coast yesterday, Tonga Police reported

Police yesterday, 20 December 2022, responded to a report of a person falling off the cliff at Hufangalupe Lookout at Vaini, causing his death.

The 37-year-old male deceased from Hoi was with two other persons at the time of the incident. According to information gathered by Police, alcohol was allegedly involved.

Tonga Police with the assistance of the Tonga Fire and Emergency Services responded and recovered the deceased’s body from the rocks beneath the cliff, for transfer to Vaiola Hospital.

Police investigation into this matter continues.

Tonga Police conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased for their loss.
