Tonga in 2023 Netball World Cup pool with Australia [1]

Tonga’s national netball team, Tala is in the same pool with the World Netball no.1 Australia’s Diamonds, eleven times winner of the trophy.
 
The 2023 Netball World Cup draw on 30 November decided four pools. The top eight ranked teams in the world, including Tonga, had already been seeded into their groups before Wednesday's draw.
 
The Netball World Cup has a total of 16 nations to play 60 matches from July 28 to August 6, 2023 in Capetown, South Africa in four pools. Tonga is in Pool A against Australia, Zimbabwe and Fiji.

Tonga Netball said this is a special moment to see the Tongan flag next to the Australian flag. “To get the opportunity for our little country to play the number 1 team in the world on the big stage is exciting,” said Hulita Veve, Tonga Tala Captain.

Tonga’s champion team are expected to visit Tonga on 3-13 December to connect with Tongans, celebrate their win, and hold a 'Tala Fou ki 'Api Camp and Tour'.

Just last month, Tonga moved to 8th place in the world netball rankings, a historic achievement, after its victory at the PacificAus Series.

Pool B has England, Malawi, Scotland and Barbados.

Pool C consists of Jamaica, South Africa, Wales and Sri Lanka 

Pool D has New Zealand, Uganda, Trinidad and Tobago and Singapore
