A 26-year-old man from Matahau is in critical condition at Vaiola Hospital.

Police said today that a report was received from Vaiola Hospital that a man was in critical condition with signs of head injuries, on Sunday 13 November.

An investigation resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old man from Matahau on Monday, 14 November.

He has been charged him with grievous bodily harm and is being detained in Police custody.

Police alleged irresponsible intake of alcohol was involved. However, the investigation continues.
