The two latest road fatalities in Tongatapu and ‘Eua have been named by Tonga Police.
 
Sione Afusipa from Angahā was the 32-year-old who died early morning, 11 November, when his car swerved and collided with a tree on Taufa'ahau Road in front of Hu’atolitoli Prison, at Vaini, Tongatapu.

Later on that same day in 'Eua, a pedestrian, Henry Lakalaka (21) sustained severe injuries from a hit and run accident on a road in Pangai, after 4:00pm.

Police alleged that the 15-year-old unlicensed driver was heading east on the main road and had swayed too far to the left side and hit the him from behind. The victim was on foot heading in the same direction. 

The victim sustained severe head injuries and died at the hospital, at around 9:14pm.

Tonga’s road fatalities now stand at 12 so far for the year.
