Mate Ma’a Tonga ends its 2022 World Cup competition [1]

The Mate Ma’a Tonga ended its participation in the 2022 Rugby League World Cup competition after it was beaten by the Toa Samoa, in the quarter-final, 20-18 today at Halliwell Jones Stadium, UK (Nov. 6, UK time).

The Toa Samoa’s victory in the quarter-final enabled them to proceed to the semi-final, where it will meet England next Saturday at the Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

It will be an interesting campaign for the Toa Samoa, which was beaten by England in their Pool Opening game 60-6, of this Rugby League World Cup competition.

The Toa Samoa went on to defeat France 62-4 to qualify for the quarter–final against the Mate Ma’a Tonga. The Toa Samoa’s next game will be against England, according to the Talamua Website will give Samoa a chance “to atone for the embarrassment of their defeat in the tournament opener a month ago.”
