Mate Ma’a Tonga squad for PNG match at Rugby League World Cup [1]

The Mate Ma'a Tonga playing squad has been announced for their first match in the Rugby League World Cup against Papua New Guinea on 18 October in England.

Tonga Rugby League stated today that the squad had their captain's run after vigorous training sessions.

Making their debut are David Fifita, Isaiya Katoa and Siosifa Talakai.

The match will be held at 7:30pm [UK time] on 18 October at the Totally Wicked Stadium. It will be broadcasted live on national Television Tonga, 19 October, 7:30am [Tonga time].

The Mate Ma'a Tonga's other two pool stage matches are against Wales on 24 October and Cook Islands on 30 October.

Meanwhile, the World Cup opening match saw England thrash Samoa 60-6 on 15 October.
