MDG Scoreboards for Samoa [1]

The United Nations (UN), Government of Samoa Ministry of Communication & Information Technology (MCIT), and the South Pacific Games Authority (SPGA) will be launching the MDG Scoreboards at the Samoa Government Buildings at 4pm today (Thursday 06/09/07).

The National ICT Committee of Samoa and MCIT partnered with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to purchase 2 MDG Scoreboards.

The scoreboards will be used to promote the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The first MDG Scoreboard will be fixed in front of the Samoa Government Buildings. The 2nd MDG Scoreboard is portable.



As a Goodwill Partners for the XIIIth 2007 South Pacific Games (SPG) being held in Samoa from 25th August ...– 8th September, the UN and MCIT have facilitated the use of the 2nd portable MDG Scoreboard by SPGA during the Games.



Games organizers will use the MDG Scoreboards during the Games for live updates, live TV coverage, medal tallies and organisational messaging, as well as promoting sponsors messaging.



For the duration of the Games, the MDG Scoreboards will be used to promote how Sports achieves the MDGs.



Post-SPG, the MDG Scoreboards will be used for MDG advocacy and to promote the work of the Government of Samoa. UNESCO, 07/09/07.
