Water tank manufacturer reopens plant after fire [1]

After losing their factory to a fire in June at the Small Industries Centre in Ma’ufanga, Rotomould (Pacific) Ltd has resumed manufacturing water tanks operations in Nuku’alofa, as they reopened for business on, 19 September, 2022.
Managing Director, Prakash Chand told Matangi Tonga the loss of their building, machinery, equipment etc. was devastating but giving up was not an option for them.
“We are absolutely committed to the people of Tonga and have restarted our operations as quickly as possible so that we can continue to provide high quality products to our customers”.
He said the company had successfully implemented projects to supply, deliver and install tanks across the Kingdom over these years.
“I understand logistics issues, such as loading, freighting, and timing (particularly around the hurricane season,” he said.
He said the company was the first local manufacturer of water tanks in Tonga and the first to get its water tanks certified to international quality standards
“We been providing the Kingdom with quality tanks for the last 18-years, providing the highest quality products and transactional services,” he said.
Safe drinking water
First established in Fiji in 2000 as part of the Rotomould Group of Companies, the company now have eight factories in six countries in the South Pacific.
It aims to provide access to clean and safe drinking water to Pacific Island communities.
Rotomould (Pacific) Ltd is a member of the Association of Rotomoulding Australasia (ARMA), the industry body for manufacturers using the rotational moulding process to produce plastic products.
