Tokiko assists Tonga waste program [1]

Tokiko, a well known Japanese singer and songwriter was in Tonga from September 10 to 13.

Tokiko was appointed by the United Nations in 2000 to be the Special envoy for UNEP for the Asian Region and since then she has been visiting countries in the Asian and the Pacific region to raise the awareness over environmental issues.

In Tonga Tokiko assisted in promoting the Tongan program of waste recycling.

Tokiko also met the Minister for Labour Commerce, and Industries Dr Masasso Paunga and discussed the possibility for Tonga to farm chemical free produce.
