Two arrested for making and using counterfeit money [1]

Two men have been arrested in the seizure of counterfeit Tongan currency from a home at Popua this week.
Also confiscated were three photocopy machines used to produce counterfeit currency.
Tonga Police identified one of the suspects, who used a fake $50 pa’anga at a petrol station in Lapaha, by intercepting his car on Taufa’ahau Road at Vaini on the afternoon of 5 September.
The second suspect was arrested on 6 September, after a search warrant was executed at his home in Popua.
Both men have been charged in relation to the counterfeit currency, as well on illicit drugs seized.
Tonga Police urged anyone who may know of any fake currency in circulation to contact them.
