Prime Minister to meet US President [1]

Tongan Prime Minister, Hon Hu’akavameiliku, will meet U.S. President Joe Biden, in a Pacific Leaders Meeting in Washington D.C at the end of September.
The PM was expected to leave Tonga today, 8 September, to attend international meetings, that includes a Pacific Leaders Meeting with U.S President, Joe Biden in Washington D.C later this month.
The Hon Prime Minister was scheduled to depart Tonga for Honolulu, Hawaii on 8 September.
In Hawaii, he will attend the Pacific Islands Conference of Leaders at the East West Centre from September 12-14.
He will then fly to New York for the UN General Assembly from September 16-26.
On September 26-30, he will fly to Manila, Philippines to attend the Asian Development Bank Annual General Meeting.
This will be followed by the Pacific Leaders meeting with U.S President Biden at the White House, September 28-29.
The PM told a press conference yesterday that his other plans in the U.S included, meeting with investors and funders of the Dialysis Centre planned for Vaiola Hospital, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He also plans to meet with Tongan community members in San Francisco, before attending the World Bank Annual Meeting, on October 3-16.
The Prime Minister is expected to return to Nuku’alofa to attend the South Pacific Defence Ministers Meeting, in his capacity as Minister for His Majesty’s Armed Forces, on 18 October.
