Candidates for Tongatapu By-Elections announced [1]

A total of 13 candidates will be contesting the vacant seats for Tongatapu 4, 6 and 7 constituencies in Tonga's By-Elections on 3 November. 

The office of the Electoral Commission eleased the candidates’ names, after closing registrations at 3:00pm on Tuesday 6 September.

These by-elections are tfor the seats vacated by three members of Parliament, who were unseated by the Legislative Assembly on 10 August.

The Tongatapu By-Elections will be held on from 9:00am to 4:00pm on 3 November. The candidates are:

Tongatapu 4

  1. Mateni Tapueluelu, Houmakelikao
  2. Viliami 'Alamameita Takau, Ma'ufanga
  3. 'Isileli Pulu, Fangaloto

  4. Toutai 'Ulupano, Popua
  5. 'Etika Cocker, Houmakelikao 

Tongatapu 6

  1. Tahifisi Vehikite, 'Utulau

  2. Sione Talanoa Fifita, Houma 
  3. Fane Fotu Fituafe, Houma 
  4. Sepeti Vakameilalo, Houma 
  5. Dulcie Elaine Tei, Hofoa 

Tongatapu 7

  1. Feletiliki Fa'otusia, Ha'ateiho 
  2. Paula Piveni Piukala, Ha'ateiho

  3. Kilisitina Saulala, Tofoa
