‘Ikale Tahi loses after early lead against Samoa [1]

The ‘Ikale Tahi was defeated by Samoa 34-18 during their second game at the 2022 Pacific Nations Cup at Churchill Stadium, Lautoka on 9 July.
Tonga started strong in the first half with two tries from centre Fetuli Paea, lock Veikoso Poloniati, with two penalties kicked to lead 18-10.
However, Samoa came back stronger in the second half, when hooker Ray Niuia scored three tries. While, Tumua Manu and Theodore McFarland made one each.
On the other other match, Fiji was defeated by Australia A 32-18.
After two rounds, Samoa tops the PNC standings with no loss. While, Australia A and Fiji has one win each. Tonga remains winless.
Samoa had beaten Australia A 31-26 in its opener.
The final round is this weekend and Tonga will play Australia A, while Samoa meets Fiji.
Tonga lost its opening match to Fiji 36-0.
