A revised petroleum prices will take effect starting on Friday, 1 July for three-months.
Tonga’s Competent Authority, said this ad hoc price review is based on the Government’s decision to subsidize 20 seniti per litre on all petroleum products except for power diesel, staring from 1 July to 30 September.
This subsidy will help stabilize the continuous rise in global petroleum prices for the next three-months.
The revised wholesale and retail price for petrol, kerosene and diesel will reduce by 20 seniti/litre from the current prices.
Therefore the new retail prices for Tongatapu will be $4.08 for petrol, kerosene $3.15 and $4.16 for diesel.
All price changes include consumption tax.
The Government subsidy is to provide support during this difficult time to all households in Tonga, especially those on the lower end of the income distribution, said TCA
