Tonga's Foreign Reserve of July fell by $1.3 million from $91.6 million in June, to $90.3 million in July, an amount equivalent to 4.3 months of imports of goods.
The National Reserve Bank of Tonga reported on August 9 that the Reserve movements resulted "from the foreign exchange operations that the NRB carries out with the commercial banks and with the Government of Tonga."
Despite the fall the Foreign Reserve of July was higher than the figure for the same month last year, July 2006 which was $86.3 million.
