Two charged with cannabis possession in routine road-stop [1]

Two men were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and a utensil, during a routine police road-stop on 6 June.
Tonga Police said a 36-year-old man from Houma and 27-year-old from Ha’akame had been charged with possession of two packs of cannabis weighin 0.52 grams and utensils.
The arrests were made just before midnight during a routine vehicle stop on Liku Road at Houma. Both suspects vehicles were stopped and searched.
The men were remanded in police custody to appear at the Magistrate's Court on 10 June.
Drug Enforcement Taskforce Commander, Acting Deputy Commissioner Halatoa Taufa, urged the public to assist Police in keeping our communities safe and protected from harm caused by illicit drugs.
