Attempted suicide case in Vava’u flown to Tongatapu [1]

A 41-year-old man who attempted suicide at ‘Utungake in Vava’u is in a stable condition at Vaiola Hospital, after being transported to Tongatapu on an emergency medical flight.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Tevita Vailea said today, it was alleged that the man had attempted suicide on Friday evening, 3 June.

He was then transported to Tongatapu on an emergency medical flight on Sunday, 5 June.  

Police has been advised by Vaiola Hospital that the man was in a stable condition, he said.

Meanwhile, this is the second attempted suicide case for Tonga so far this year.
