A 28-year-old man is charged with causing grievous bodily harm in relation to the stabbing of another man with a knife at Ha’ateiho on Friday night, 3 June.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Tevita Vailea said today, that Police arrested the accused on the same night.

He said it was alleged that the two men were having a drink up with others at a residence, when an altercation occurred. The 28-year-old is accused of stabbing the 28-year-old victim.

The victim who sustained wounds to his body was rushed to Vaiola Hospital and was treated before being discharged.

Meanwhile, the accused who is in police custody has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

He is expected to appear at the Magistrate’s Court later in the week.
