King Tupou VI grants audience to Australian Foreign Minister [1]

Australia's new Foreign Minister Senator Hon. Penny Wong flew into Tonga today for a few hours of high level meetings.

HM King Tupou VI welcomed the minister and her seven member delgation at the Royal Palace in Nuku’alofa, for an audience that lasted over 40 minutes.

Tonga's Prime Minister Hon. Hu’akavameiliku, Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Fekita ‘Utoikamanu and the Australian High Commissioner to Tonga, HE Rachael Moore were also present.

The Australian delegation then moved on to have meetings with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Fekita 'Utoikamanu and other government officials.

The delegation departed Tonga for Australia later in the afternoon, after arriving in the morning, 3 June.
