King Tupou VI grants audience to Chinese Foreign Minister [1]

HM King Tupou VI welcomed China's State Councilor and Foreign Minister HE Mr Wang Yi and delegation this afternoon at the Royal Palace in Nuku’alofa. The Minister had a 45 minute audience with the king, and posed for photos in the grounds.
The high ranking Chinese official arrived in Tonga today with a delegation of around 20, that included Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Mr Xie Feng, on a one-day visit to Tonga, during their Pacific tour.
The Minister first visited the Royal Palace for an audience with the King and posed for photos, while having a friendly conversation in the Palace grounds.
Tonga's Prime Minister Hon. Hu’akavameiliku and the Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Fekita ‘Utoikamanu were also present.
Mr Wang Yi then left for a meeting with the Prime Minister and signed documents at the St George Government Building. He also held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Chinese delegation departs Tonga, tomorrow, 1 June.
