Ernie Fotu (43) received a suspended sentence for possession of 15.54 grams of cannabis at the Fasi Magistrate Court.
Magistrate Similoni Tu’akalau sentenced him on March 11, after the accused pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing the cannabis and homebrew, on Dec. 24, 2021 at Folaha.
The lower court heard that the accused, who is married with children, earns a living by going to the plantation.
He had no previous convictions, cooperated with police and entered early guilty pleas.
The Magistrate ruled the case qualified for that of a suspended sentence.
He then sentenced the accused to a total of six-months imprisonment, which was fully suspended for one-year.
