Man charged with murdering his twin sister in Vava'u [1]

A 51-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his twin sister, whom he allegedly stabbed in Falaleu, Vava'u on Saturday, March 5.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police Tevita Vailea said Police in Neiafu received the report of the incident at around 7:00am.

Police officers were dispatched to this home in Falaleu and rushed the victim to the hospital. She passed away later on the same day.

“What police has now is that she was allegedly stabbed with a sharp object. Police investigation continues,” he said.

It was understood that the accused had a record from Vaiola Hospital Pyschiatric Ward.

No other details were released at this stage.
