Another repatriation flight from Fiji is also due on Thursday, March 10, bringing passengers from Samoa and Vanuatu.
Home Isolation for repatriates possible
A number of repatriates who arrived last month were able to quarantine in their own homes, confirmed Dr Reynold ‘Ofanoa at the press conference today.
Health frontliners reported these repatriates adhered to COVID-19 protocols, he said.
“This is the first time we trialed this new process.”
Dr ‘Ofanoa said those arriving on the next repatriation flights, who would like to quarantine in their own homes can write a letter to the [Ministry of Health] CEO, so a team can inspect and ensure their home is appropriate for quarantine before approval.
The Minister for Health added that if some repatriates can quarantine in their own homes, it frees up extra spaces at MIQ and more people can be added to repatriation flights.
