69% of Form Seven students pass national exam [1]

At least 69% of students have passed the 2021 Tonga National Form Seven Certificate (TNFSC), confirmed the Ministry of Education & Training on January 6.
This is slightly down when compared to 2020 where 71% of students passed. A total of 644 candidates registered for TNFSC in 2021, which is lower than the 673 in 2020.
Only two schools, ‘Eua High School and Niuatoputapu High School, achieved an overall pass rate of 100%.
Takuilau College and Taufa’ahau Pilolevu College-Ha’apai had pass rates of 85% and 60% respectively in their first year of offering the TNFSC.
Tonga College saw less than half of form seven students (47%) pass, however the pass rate increased from 43% in 2020.
Only two subjects attained the distinction level including Mathematics with Statistics from ‘Eua High School, and Chinese Language from Tonga High School.
There are 13 schools offering the TNFSC including seven schools on Tongatapu and six on the outer-islands.
