Monday, December 20, 2021 - 19:50
The prices for petrol, diesel and kerosene decreased slightly, starting today Monday, December 20.
The Competent Authority (TCA) approved the new retail petroleum prices [including consumption tax] as;
- petrol decreases from $3.26 to $3.20 per litre (by 6 cents)
- kerosene decreases from $2.29 to $2.23 per litre, (by 6 cents)
- diesel decreases from $3.15 to $3.09 per litre, (by 6 cents)
TCA said the fall of the price for the petroleum products' this month were due to the decrease in international prices for all products, a slight decrease in freight rate and a steady foreign exchange rate.
In addition, crude oil prices fell by nearly USD10-14/bbl in the last two weeks of November on concerns about renewed restrictions, due to the spread of the Omicron Covid-19 variant.
