Eleven beautiful young women, contestants for the Miss Heilala 2007 crown, were introduced today at an orientation programme at the Good Samaritan Beach Resort, Kolovai.

The theme for this year's Miss Heilala Pageant is 'Tonga, Jewel of the Pacific'. Also joining the Pageant appearances is the current Miss Heilala 2006-07, Sina Nauahi.

A total of 13 girls are to participate in this year's pageant, and 11 made their first public appearance today, while the two last contestants namely the Miss Tonga USA and Miss Tonga Utah are expected to arrive this week.

The first judging event of the Miss Heilala Pageant will be held on Monday July 9 with the interview and presentation followed by the Miss Tau'olunga Competition in the evening.

On Tuesday July 10 contestants will compete in the Sarong and Talent competition to be followed by the final judging event of the Contemporary Island Creation. The crowning of the new Miss Heilala 2007 on July 11 will be followed by a float parade on July 12.

This year's Miss Heilala Pageant will celebrate for the first time HRH Crown Prince Tupouto'a Lavaka's birthday on July 12.
