Drug offender in Vava’u charged [1]

The 49-year-old man who was arrested in Neiafu, after Police seized 254.72 grams of cocaine has been charged with possession of illicit drugs. 

Acting Deputy Commissioner Detective Halatoa Taufa said there have been no other related drug arrests so far.

Since the accused arrest on Sunday, November 14 he has been in police custody for court this week.

Meanwhile, the 38-year-old man who was arrested with a .22 long rifle and more than 700 x .22 ammunition on Tuesday, November 23 has been released on bail, pending court.

He has been charged with possession of arm and ammunition without a license.

Meanwhile, these arrests were made by the Tonga Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce as part of its ongoing drug operations.
