Fiji on track to open borders to fully vaccinated travellers [1]

Fiji is on track to open its borders to fully vaccinated travellers as the number of new COVID-19 cases and deaths in the country continue to decrease, while a high percentage of its adult population have been inoculated.
The most recent update from the country’s Ministry of Health and Medical Services on October 25 saw 14 new cases and no deaths recorded.
A total of 594,731 adults in Fiji have been inoculated with their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 533,663 have received their second dose. This means 96.2% of adults have received their first dose, and 86.3% are now fully vaccinated in the country.
Children aged 15 – 17 years old are also being vaccinated with 30,585 inoculated with their first dose so far, while 13,869 have had their second dose.
The epidemic curve in the table above depicts the daily positive cases since the second wave of this outbreak began in April 2021 with 51,958 cases and 671 deaths recorded.
Since March 2020, there been a total of 52,028 cases and 673 deaths due to COVID-19 in the country.
International Travel
Starting on November 11 to December 1, Fiji will only accept fully vaccinated permit holders, Fijian passport holders, and returning residents who will be required to undertake a 3-day quarantine in a Fiji Managed Quarantine facility, and will be subject to RT-PCR tests 72 hours pre-departure and in-country.
On December 1, Fiji will be open to fully vaccinated travellers from Travel Partner Countries for reduced quarantine arrangements on arrival.
