The repatriates from Pago Pago and Apia were released from quarantine in Tonga last week after they all tested negative for COVID-19 in their last round of tests, confirmed Ministry of Health’s Dr ‘Ofa Tukia today.
The nine passengers were the only repatriates in September as repatriation flights from Australia and New Zealand were postponed due to COVID-19 community transmission.
The next repatriation flight to Tonga is scheduled from Christchurch, New Zealand, on October 27 with around 300 passengers.
Meanwhile, the repatriation flight from Australia continues to be postponed.
