Accused in 30kg meth export granted bail [1]

Nomani Kama Manulevu (45) from Nukuhetulu who is charged with the exportation of 30 kilograms of methamphetamine from Tonga to New Zealand has been released on bail in Nuku'alofa.
The Magistrate Court's office confirmed today, that the accused was released on Friday, September 24. This was after he appeared at the lower court, on September 20.
His bail conditions included prohibition of domestic travel and he is placed under a night time curfew. He must report weekly to the Police station.
The case was adjourned to December 13.
On September 9, the accused was arrested by Tonga Police.
This was after, methamphetamine concealed in a refrigerated food container was seized in New Zealand. The illicit drug was intercepted through a joint operation between Tonga Police and the New Zealand Customs and Police in early August.
Five other arrests were made in Auckland by New Zealand Customs in the operation.
