Petrol station robber remains at large in Tongatapu [1]

A masked man who robbed a Tongatapu petrol station on Tuesday night remains at large.
The robber stole around $2,000 cash from a female attendant at the Luna'eva Petrol station on Hihifo Road.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Tevita Vailea said today the robbery occured after 9:00pm on September 7.
“The robber, whose face was covered-up, arrived in a blue car at the petrol station posing to get a re-fill.
“The station attendant had her small bag of cash on her. The robber got out and tried to snatch the bag and they allegedly struggled. The robber who was stronger snatched the bag of cash and fled the scene in the car,” he said.
Police later found the car abandoned at a tax allotment in Puke. The car was reported to have been stolen.
The Deputy Commissioner said no weapon was used and the attendant was not hurt.
The Police investigation is continuing.
