Fiji COVID deaths continue with new daily cases [1]

Fiji has recorded 128 new cases of COVID-19 over a 24-hour period ending at 8:00am on September 6.
There have also been 12 new deaths, in the period from July 27 to September 5, from the virus, which has now claimed 520 lives there.
The new cases included, 78 cases from the western division, 45 cases from the central division and five cases from the eastern division.
Four deaths were from the western division and eight deaths were reported from the Central Division.
The Pacific Island's Ministry of Health and Medical Services said the new deaths were people who had not been vaccinated, with the eldest being a 93-year-old man from Tavua, and the youngest a 28-year-old woman from Lautoka.
Meanwhile, as of September 3, a total of 566,210 adults had received their first dose of the vaccine and 299,943 had received their second doses.
This meant that 96.5% of the target population had received at least one dose and 51.1% were now fully vaccinated nationwide.
The seven-day average of new cases per day is 255 cases per day in Fiji.
