Victim named in Malapo road fatality [1]

Sione Uikilifi Lapu’aho (20) from Vaini was the passenger who died early Sunday morning July 4, after a road crash at Malapo near Hu'atolitoli Prison.

Police at Mu’a today confirmed his name. 

He was the front passenger of the vehicle that swerved and crashed into a power pole on the side of the road, after midnight.

A 25-year-old man also from Vaini was driving. He has been charged with reckless driving causing death.

Police reported that the two were heading to town when their car crashed. Speeding and alcohol were alleged to be factors in this fatal crash, with methamphetamine found on the driver.
